But don’t get me wrong, my ‘home office’ is not like what most people have.
I don’t have a properly set-up working area, like what a ‘home office’ should be. My ‘home office’ basically comprises of only two components - me and my laptop.
Most of the time I work on the dining table, sometimes on the sofa. Occasionally out in cafes with free wi-fi facility, or in a hotel room while I’m traveling. So, there isn’t much to talk about my home office really. But it indeed is a very flexible 2-component office for a housewife who mostly stays at home and working on writing assignments on a freelance basis. I’ve come to realize that I should fully utilize this advantage to increase my income, because:
- Income is unsteady with freelance jobs, particularly when you so unfortunately take on projects from a bad paymaster (I learned my lesson now). No project = no money.
- I am a ‘high-maintenance’ housewife. I need my regular facials and shopping; I like eating out; buying books and magazines is my hobby; and of course I have to cover for the real necessities such as phone bill, insurance, money for mom, house installment, etc.
- Most importantly, I don’t have a rich husband to support ALL my monetary needs!
So, I figure, even as a housewife, I need to start making REAL money on my own and become truly financially independent. This is where I will share money-making opportunities and knowledge that I’ve come across - online or offline - with all housewives out there! (Because I believe that the more I share, the more I will learn and gain. Agree?)
