Good times or bad times, people are always looking for ways to make more money. You wouldn’t reject the idea of becoming rich, would you? So, if you have a blog, you would love to know how to make money from blogging, wouldn’t you?
I only discovered the many money-making possibilities not too long ago. Previously I only knew how to make money blogging through two ways: writing paid posts or sponsored posts and with Google Adsense. However, these methods didn’t turn into a profit great enough for me to turn it into a full-time ‘job’. Check out what I have written about this in my earlier post “Make Money From Blogging?“.
Only about several months back that when I opened up my eyes to the world of internet marketing, that I eventually saw the bigger picture. In a nutshell, as far as I am aware of, these are what you can do to monetize your blogs:
- Writing paid posts/sponsored posts. The number of tasks you will be offered and how much you’ll get paid for each task depends a lot on your blog’s traffic, page rank and readership.
- Placing Google Adsense or other text-link ads in the side banner of your blog. It seems that blogs that focus on a specific topic or niche make more money with Google Adsense. Personal blogs that ramble just about anything under the sky may not be able to draw targeted traffic to generate clicks, unless the blog has a considerably large readership.
- Allowing other business owners to advertise on your blog, i.e. selling ad space. Again, this requires your blog to meet certain web traffic before it can attract advertisers.
- Running affiliate marketing campaigns on your blog by placing banners or links that direct your visitors to the merchant’s page when they click on it. If successful, this is where the big chunk of money is coming from.
- Marketing your own product if you have one. You can set up a simple payment system using PayPal, or incorporate a shopping cart software to processĀ orders and payments if you have multiple products.
- Running your own newsletter, through which you can use to promote your own products or affiliate ones.
- Operating your own membership site, and collect monthly membership fees.
I have done the first method, but as I said, it’s not going to lead me to riches (there are some bloggers that made a lot of moolahs with this method though). I’m now focusing more on method no.4 with other blogs, but I know it will take perhaps several months of work (i.e. to drive traffic and build readership) before I can start to make money with blogging.
